Great essay and subsequent discussion on how the GOP uses bait and switch tactics with the public, using non-issues to distract from the more important ones.
A couple examples come to mind, both national and local in scope. There are so many other pressing, more important issues than these trivial items. Money is being wasted and could be better spend on fighting homelessness, AIDS, terrorism, etc.
